This weekend, the journey continues for Samir Kharbouch's side in their pursuit of National Cup glory. On Sunday the Bury Boys will travel to Shropshire to face the all conquering Newport Salop.
Having overcome the very stern test of Olney in the round of 16, the task awaiting the Colts will be certainly be no less tough this weekend. Standing between them and a place in the last 4 of this prestigious tournament are a Newport Salop side who are unbeaten in all competitions this season. Put simply, they have dominated their region and all that have crossed their path thus far. This is a statement reflected by the fact that they have already won their league with the maximum amount of points on offer taken.
The Bury Boys will need to be at their absolute best to beat the competitions' in form side, in front of what is likely to be a large and partisan crowd. However, they too have every right to be confident.
The Colts have also faced, and overcome, some very tough opponents this season, fighting on 3 fronts: the league, the Eastern Counties Cup and the National Colts Cup. As the class of 2023/2024 look to emulate - and better - their predecessors remarkable efforts last season, they have very much embraced the challenge through their commitment, culture and brand of rugby. These three components have been at the heart of their successes so far and they'll be calling on them again this Sunday.
It is expected that a large travelling contingent will follow the lads to Shropshire, with the hope of inspiring them to a historic victory - and you can still join them!
