The Mini’s Section at Bury Rugby Club is a vibrant, loud, fun and active place to be. The objective in the Minis is simple – to ensure all players ENJOY their rugby! We don’t split abilities on purpose to allow the more experienced to share their enthusiasm and knowledge wide in each age group.
To play for the under 11s you must be in school year 6. Head Coach of the under 11s is: Mike Durell. Team Manager for the under 11s is: Hannah Pawsey. Contact information can be found below or you can email u11minis@bserufc.co.uk.
Under 11 training takes place every Sunday, normally starting at 10am and finishing by 11.30am. Training takes place on grass pitches to the right of the main club house. Suitable footwear, gumshield and a water bottle are essential. At this age, the children are introduced to the scrum, rucking and tackling; boys and girls play together.
We insist the first two weeks are free for new members to make sure the club and indeed the game is for your child. If you are renewing your membership this can be done online using the SHOP section of this website. Non-competitive matches with other local clubs normally start in October and membership must be paid to participate. Children are fed after home and away matches. For matches, we prefer that children wear the club kit, available to purchase from the STC website.
Our club house is open from 9am until the afternoon serving breakfast - please do come in and support your club, we are a social bunch and it is a great way to make new friends! We also observe the Good Players and Parents Conduct rules set by the RFU, which makes for fun off and on the pitch.
