GET READY FOR ADULT PLAYER REGISTRATION - 2024 / 2025
From the 2024/25 season, all players, in all formats of the game (including non-contact), will be required to register themselves annually to play rugby within RFU member clubs.
Adult player registration will go live on 16th July 2024.
From this date, adult players will be able to log into GMS (The RFU Game Management System) to register themselves to play.
Player registration is currently a club-led process, whereby clubs register players on their behalf. We are moving from this to a registration process where players will register themselves to play with a club, using their Game Management System (GMS) account. Clubs will then accept/decline player registrations as they come through.
The move to game wide registration is intended to benefit the whole rugby community and brings rugby union in line with the majority of other unions and other sports where this is common practice.”
As can be seen, this is a major mindset and process change for the clubs and our members. Players, coaches and team managers need to aware of the changes and begin to implement the necessary changes within their area of responsibility.
The RFU web site has a lot of useful information and help guides relating to the new processes and they can be accessed using this link.
